Janice M. Brown

Janice Marie Brown, 75, passed away May 10, 2018. She was born on May 25, 1942 in Chariton, Iowa to Norbert and Myrna (Lacey) Finder.

Jan graduated from Chariton High School in 1960. She worked at JCPenneys where she utilized her love of fashion and jewelry with her compassion for others. She enjoyed collecting milk bottles, growing plants and interior decorating. She lived in various communities in Iowa, Missouri, and Texas and was particularly fond of Lubbock, Texas. She loved going to her children’s and grandchildren’s events. She was involved in New Neighbors group and Christian Women’s Group, loved playing cards and having dinner with friends.

Jan is survived by her husband, David Brown, whom she was married to for almost 57 years; son Alan (Kim) Brown, Urbandale, Iowa; daughter Julie (Aaron) Anderson, Holland, Michigan; grandchildren Jacob, Annika, Alex, Alyssa, Drew, and Joy; sister-in-law Martha Allen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Thanks to the Southern Hills Specialty Care for the attention and care she received.
