Joan Marie (Parson) Cain

Joan Marie (Parson) Cain age 84, passed away on March 25th, 2024 at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, Iowa. Joan was born on March 1, 1940 in Camden, Michigan to Victor and Marie (Bowles) Parson. She and her family later moved to Williamson, Iowa.  Joan graduated from Chariton High School.  After graduation she was united in marriage to James Polo to that union came their four children, Cindy, Kelly, Wrandy and Dave.

 On September 19th, 1992, she married the love of her life Curtis Lee Cain. Over the years Jo worked for Dr. Hermann, cleaned houses and worked at Chariton Floral making beautiful arrangements until she retired.

Joan lived life to the fullest enjoying all of life’s beauty. One of her favorite things was to bird watch out her big picture window most specifically her hummingbirds she loved her hummingbirds and always made sure they were fed well so they would always come back! More than anything in life though she adored her family. Her biggest blessings in life were her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandson. No matter where she was or who she was talking to even a complete stranger she was always bragging on one of them and their latest accomplishments, she was so proud of them all.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Marie Parson, Brother Danny Parson, In-laws, Arthur and Corrine Cain, Granddaughter Madahlynn Polo.

She is survived by her beloved husband Curtis Cain, children, Cindy Polo of Russell, Kelly Polo-Braaksma of Chariton, Wrandy (Lauri) Polo of Chariton, Dave(Brandi) Polo of Centerville. Grandchildren, Dusty(Kristy) Dawson, Ashley Dawson, Jevon(Kim) Polo, Lindsey Braaksma, Holly(Lee) McFall, Sam Polo, Seth Polo, Cobain, Soulan, Irelan, Italy, Cambree & Taven Polo. 15 Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild and 3 sisters, Pat Waugh, Barb(Babe) Anderson, and Judy Harper.

Funeral services for Joan Marie Cain, 84, are Friday March 29th, 2024 at 10:30 am at fielding funeral home in Chariton, Iowa. Family will receive friends at 9:30 am prior to services. Interment will be held at Zion cemetery. Following will be a luncheon at the freight house in Chariton . Pallbearers are Dusty Dawson, Jevon Polo, Lee McFall, Holly McFall, Sam Polo, Seth Polo, Lindsey Braaksma, Destiny Dawson and Tanner Dawson. Honorary pallbearers are Cobain, Soulan, Irelan, Italy, Cambree, and Taven Polo. Memorials can be made to pin oak marsh. Funeral arrangements were handled by fielding funeral home, Chariton, Iowa.
