Rosalie “Rose” Carol Nielsen (Giesman), 66, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. Rosalie Carol Giesman was born August 9, 1951 in Russell, Iowa to Henry Edward Giesman and Elizabeth Jane (Werst) Giesman. One of six children born to this marriage. Rose graduated from Knoxville High in 1970. In March 1970, Rose was joined in marriage to Terry Ray Nielsen in Princeton, Missouri. Terry and Rosalie had a beautiful love story, they were a match made in heaven. They lived together for 47 years in the Chariton area. To that union she added two children, Christopher Ray Nielsen and Scott Allen Nielsen. These sons brought seven grandchildren: Zachary, Madelynn, Madeline, Tyler, Gracie, Mikayla, and Andru. In which she loved spending time with and following to many sporting and family events. Terry and Rose enjoyed spending time camping and many family vacations throughout the years together. She attended the first Presbyterian Church in Chariton Iowa. Rose worked for Casey’s General Store for upwards of 35 years. She loved camping, helping others, and her family. Rose was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Giesman, niece Kathryn Nielsen, Nephew Sean “Seaner Dog” Nielsen as well as several Aunts and Uncles. Left to cherish her memories are Husband Terry Nielsen of Chariton, sons: Chris (Richelle) of Ankeny, Iowa and Scott (Nancy) of Ventura, Iowa. Seven grandchildren: Madelynn Stout of Chariton, Madeline, Gracie, and Andru Nielsen of Ankeny, and Zachary, Tyler, and Mikayla Nielsen of Ventura. Brothers: Ralph (Roseanne) Giesman of Denison, Iowa, John (Sharon) Giesman of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Fred (Diane) Giesman of Kellogg, Iowa, Harold Giesman of Columbia, Iowa, and Sister Virginia (Ed) Oxenreider of Chariton, Iowa. Mother and father in law, Leona and Harold Nielsen of Chariton, Iowa. Brothers and sisters in law: Darrell and Linda Nielsen of Sperry, Iowa; and Steven and Yvonne Nielsen of Springfield, IL Along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews as well as extended family and friends that will miss and love her dearly.
