Richard L. Boyce, 79, passed away April 18, 2017 at the Village Health Care Facility in Indianola, Iowa. Richard was born December 26, 1937 to Dr. Leo Ray Boyce and Faith Donna (McConnell) Boyce.
Richard spent most of his years growing up in the Garden Grove and Chariton area. He graduated from Chariton High School in 1956. He then attended and graduated from Drake University in 1960, after graduation from Drake he joined the United States Army. Living most of his life in the Des Moines area after returning from the army.
Richard was a long-time member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church. Member of the Izaak Walton League, taught education hunter safety courses, member of the Welfare Lodge #628 in Norwalk. He is a post-master of the lodge and 50-year Masonic Member. Richard was most proud of his 36 years with Wyeth-Ayerst, later Pfizer as a salesman. Richards enjoyed spending summers at the fishing cabin in Northern Minnesota. As well as Jeeping with the Mile-High Jeep Club in Colorado.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, left to cherish his memories are wife Marjorie, son Chris Boyce of West Des Moines, daughter Cindy Adams of Lakewood, CO., Juli Gumbiner of Boulder Creek, CA., Donald Gumbiner of Chaska, MN. and Kenneth Gumbiner of Kansas City, MO.
