Joyce Ann Daugherty was born on Aug 1, 1935 in Chariton, Iowa to Harold L and Edith L (Duffield) Daugherty. Joyce passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines at the age of 82.

Joyce grew up in Chariton and graduated from Chariton High School in 1953.

Joyce worked for Chariton Wholesale Grocery upon graduation from high school. On Nov 2, 1958, Joyce was united in marriage to Max Edward Probasco at the First Baptist Church in Chariton. To this union three children were born, Michael, Penny and Susan.

Joyce enjoyed the family yearly vacations. Most weekends in the summer were spent boating, fishing and camping at Rathbun Lake. She looked forward to spending time with friends and family at the lake where she still cooked for everyone.

Joyce was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she served as Trustee and was a member of the Women’s Group.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harold L and Edith L Daugherty; sister, June Kline and brother Harold (Hank) Daugherty, and husband, Max E Probasco.

She is survived by her three children: Michael (Heidi) Probasco, Penny (Jeff) Zaugg and Susan (Mark) Burris. Grandchildren Kaitlin and Jonathan Zaugg and Abbey and Emily Burris.
