Doris Eloise Schilling, 95, passed away October 31, 2017 at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. Doris was born July 2, 1922 in Lucas County to Harry Edward Ruble and Mary Ethel (Morris) Ruble, she was the youngest of four siblings.

Doris grew up in Lucas County, attending and graduating from Norwood Schools in 1940. After graduation she married Dale Leo Schilling Sr. on October 4, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  To this marriage was born five children, Carol, Virginia, Dale Jr., Betty and Harry.

Doris worked as a secretary for Biesemeyer Insurance Firm retiring in 1987, when she was not fulfilling her first role as a loving wife and mother to her family.  She was a member of the Chariton Christian Church Disciples of Christ, she enjoyed quilting, playing cards and planting and caring for her flowers.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Thelma Brammer, Evadna Eubank, brother Howard Ruble, husband Dale Leo Sr. and son Harry Schilling. Left to cherish her memories are daughters Carol (Larry) Sharp of Lathrop, Missouri, Virginia (Stephen) Wilson of Des Moines, Iowa, son Dale Schilling Jr. of Williamson, Iowa and daughter Betty (Howard) Adcock of Newton, Iowa, along with 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
