Carol " Jane" Miller

Carol “Jane” Miller the daughter of Thomas Benton Reid and Ethyal Undine Clowser Reid was born January 6, 1937 in Chariton, Iowa.

She passed away at the Circle of Life Legacy Lodge Hospice on October 25, 2017, surrounded by her family making her age 80 years, 9 months and 19 days.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Russell Miller on May 7, 1962, to their union they had one son, Kenneth Royce Miller. Jane and Kenny were blessed with Jane’s three children. Dean Dawson Jr., Richard Dawson, and Debra Evans.

Carol Jane worked as a hairdresser for many years and made many friends throughout her working career. When they moved to Summersville she and Kenny were active in the Summersville Community, serving wherever there was a need.  The Summersville Senior Center was where they could be found most days volunteering, visiting and enjoying a game of cards.  They were active in the City Council and loved the Summersville Community.

When their health began to decline they moved back to Iowa to be near their children and grandchildren.  Jane enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, dominoes and visiting.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ethyal, brother Tom Reid and sister Shirley Stratton.

Carol “Jane” Miller is survived by her husband Kenneth Russell Miller, son Dean Dawson Jr. and fiancé Jackie Miller, of Mingo, Iowa, Richard Dawson and wife Jennie of Indianola, Iowa, Debbie Davis and husband Steve of Chariton, Iowa and Kenneth Royce Miller and wife Sherry of Houston, Texas, brother Dwight Reid of West Des Moines, Iowa, sister Colleen Ambelang of Chariton, Iowa, seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
