Brenda L. Norris

Brenda Lee Norris was born May 29, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edwin Theodore and Evelyn (Davis) McElvogue. She passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Mercy Medical Center located in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 61 years.

Brenda grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. On July 2, 1988, Brenda was united in marriage with Clayton Eric Norris in the small community of Osceola, Iowa. She had two children, her daughter, Joni Burton and son, Dennis Burton.

Brenda worked in production at Osceola Foods located in Osceola, Iowa. In her spare time, she enjoyed Farmville on the computer. Brenda had a love of animals throughout her life. She especially, admired Bryer horses and enjoyed the companionship of her dogs Rimshot and Iggy. Christmas was always a special time of year for Brenda as she loved baking goodies for her family. Another favorite past time of Brenda’s, was trying out new recipes. She lived in the Chariton and Osceola areas most of her adult life.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Evelyn McElvogue.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton of Chariton, Iowa; her children, Joni (Justin Farlow) Burton of Waukee, Iowa and Dennis (Mindy) Burton of Missouri; her sister, Sandie Burton of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Eric, Colby, Grady, Taylor, Austyn, Hunter and Benjamin; her niece, Melanie Verwers from Arizona; her nephew, Tim (Erin) Burton of Lamoni, Iowa; great-niece, Ariel (Cody Floyd) Verwers of Des Moines, Iowa; great-nephew, Caleb Verwers of Des Moines, Iowa; and many relatives and close friends.
